As one of the most important goals of Filmusik is to create opportunities and outlets for composers, the performances will showcase the work of 7 unique contemporary composers and their musical interpretations of the Fliescher films. With the instrumentation as their only constant, each composer has the canvas of one film to express their personal musical take on dramatic accompaniment to film.
COMPOSERS
The composers for Filmusik are being culled from a myriad sources, be they established film composers or students composition; local, national or international. Interested composers should submit a minute long sketch of original music, written for one of the seventeen Superman animations in .sib or .mus format. All submissions will be reviewed.
We are looking for a demonstrated familiarity with the available instrumentation and composing in relation to film. We'll also be looking for a composers creativity when confronted with the restrictive structure of the Superman animations
